Materials:
- 140mm x 18mm pine (can be other size)
- PVA / Hot glue
- Polyurethane
Gear:
- Coping saw
- Glue gun for hot glue
- Sand paper
- Hand saw
- Pencil
- Clamps or vice
Time:
- 60 minutes
Notes:
- When cutting out the shapes, make sure there is a lot of support otherwise the wood will snap
- Cut out the centre first, then the outer line so the remaining wood provides support
Steps:
- Cut out 2 x 150mm wide lengths from the wood
- Trace the pattern on one piece of wood
- Sand and prepare the other piece of wood to be the base
- Cut the inside of the shape out with a coping saw
- (We cut the inside first as it is more stable than cutting the outside first)
- Cut the outside line of the shape
- Sand the shape
- Sand a slightly flat spot on the bottom of the shape
- Glue the shape onto the base wood with hot glue or PVA
- Paint / polyurethane as required
